About this event

Bad bugs, bad bugs, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?

Catchy, eh? So are invasive insects! With the surge of modern industry and travel, animals, plants, and more can move from place to place easier than ever before. It's a real problem, but with real solutions: us. This program focuses its lens on the state of NJ and five of the most impactful invasive insect species that now call the Garden State home. Join TBZ's Educators to discover how YOU can help stop invasive species in their tracks.

What you will learn:

  • How to identify the invasive insect species
  • What makes an invasive species invasive
  • The impacts each insect has on the NJ environment
  • The most effective steps for the control of the insects by an individual

When?

This program is a 1.5 hours program, including time for Q&A with our expert Educators. The presentation will begin promptly, so please be on-time.

Program Dates:

  • Sunday, September 12th at 1 PM
  • Sunday, October 10th at 1 PM

Please note that both of these dates will present the same material and are not a series providing new information. Please only register for one of the sessions.

Who?

This program is recommended for ages 18+, but any who want to learn about invasive species and how to combat them are welcome to join! Each ticket is for 1 household, but please don't exceed more than 5 people per individual ticket.

Fair warning! There are many pictures of insects in this presentation. If you have trypophobia or entomophobia, this program may be a little difficult for you!

Where?

This program is virtual; you will receive an invitation to the Webex program via email *2-3 days before the program from tbzvosnato@gmail.com*. Please check your spam folder or email us if you have not received your invitation. Webex (by Cisco) is a free virtual platform that you can download from your favorite app store.

Questions?

Email Virginia Osnato at tbzvosnato@gmail.com or call TBZ's education department at (973)-731-5800 ext. 230 or 103. Email is the best way to reach us.
