You’re Invited to The Bad Banana Bash!
Join us at Speyer Hall on November 15th at 7:30pm to enjoy some light bites, enter our raffle, sign up for our open mic, and stop by the Reiki clinic hosted by the NYC POC Healing Circle. Then enjoy an interactive perormance by multidisciplinary performing artist Yiseul LeMieux, followed by the NYC debut of genre defying drag artists, Salty Fears and Rose Nylon. All this leading up to a preview and behind the scenes look into the development of the very first Bad Banana Original Production, Plantains.
This launch is more than just a party; it's a chance to give back. We’re proud to donate 10% of ticket sales to the NYCPOC Healing Circle, a QTBIPOC-led energy healing collective dedicated to healing justice. Come be a part of this inaugural event and share in the spirit of creativity, connection, and community as we begin this exciting journey together. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
About Plantains
Plantains is a performance experience about firsts. We follow 5 souls we meet as plantains on a bunch. They reminisce about their previous lives and discover that none have ever been human. They make a deal with the keeper of the universe to become human in their next lives. Their wish is granted and we witness their human lives in a kaleidoscope of firsts.
About Bad Banana Productions
Bad Banana Productions is an NYC-based multidisciplinary production house founded by Rasheedat "Ras Bad" Badejo. Bad Banana is rooted in sustainable creative practices that allow artists, communities, and ideas to develop and evolve authentically. We believe a healthy process welcomes failure and mistakes as a portal to new possibilities. By facilitating creative instigations, care-centered processes, and participatory work, we aim to catalyze communities to use their creativity as a tool for self-determination and freedom.
