Health, mortality and length of life vary greatly by socioeconomic status in some but not all countries. These differences are large and growing in the United States.
The six papers in this workshop, by researchers in Demography, Economics, Epidemiology, Medicine, and Public Policy, examine variations in mortality and health in the US and Latin America in relation to various measures of socioeconomic status.
