Overview

Hands-on backyard workshop: learn to humanely process duck, quail & rabbit. Process and take home an animal. No experience needed.

Join us for a hands-on workshop focused on processing backyard homestead animals, including duck, quail, and rabbit. This class is designed for homesteaders and anyone interested in learning how to responsibly and confidently process their own livestock.

Participants will receive step-by-step instruction in humane, efficient processing methods from start to finish. You’ll learn essential skills such as handling, dispatching (discussed and demonstrated), skinning or plucking, cleaning, and preparing each animal for the table, along with best practices for cleanliness, safety, and meat care.

This is an interactive experience—each participant will take part in the process under close guidance. By the end of the workshop, you will have processed your own animal and will take home a prepared, ready-to-cook product.

No prior experience is required. All equipment and materials are provided. Please wear practical clothing and be prepared for a working environment.

This workshop is designed to build confidence, self-sufficiency, and a deeper understanding of backyard food production from start to finish.
