Join the Colorado Hiking Girls for a backpacking workshop, hosted by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/dashaslens?igsh=MWpweDZpeGgwNGs5OQ==" title="https://www.instagram.com/dashaslens?igsh=MWpweDZpeGgwNGs5OQ==" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dasha @dashaslens</a>!This workshop is meant for beginner or first-time backpackers wanting to learn the essentials, including:<ul><li>What to bring backpacking (and what you don't need)</li><li>How to optimize and pack your backpack</li><li>How to use a bear canister and store food safely</li><li>How to use a backpacking stove for cooking on trail</li><li>Backcountry hygiene (yes, we're talking about bathroom stuff!)</li><li>Safety and tips for building trail confidence</li><li>Leave No Trace principles for protecting wild places</li></ul>Expect hands-on demos, relatable stories, and plenty of space for questions!Attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment to follow along, but those without equipment will be encouraged to watch and learn. We'll do a short "training" hike with a packed bag to get a sense of how much weight you can expect to carry on a trip. All attendees will receive a Sidekick day pack and other giveaways from <a href="https://www.gregory.com/" title="https://www.gregory.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Gregory</a>.
