“I want you to go on your REP Journey because you will be connected to your story and interconnected to the stories of others, you will have power over fear instead of fear having power over you. Stepping outside of fear-based storylines will come with ease and curiosity, and by unearthing your deepest truths you will stay on the revolutionary path of engaging with Truth and Stories, to better understand who you are and why you are ALIVE.”

-Noor Tagouri, REP Episode 11: Alive

What is REP?

REP is a bold, wide-ranging podcast brought to you by journalist Noor Tagouri. REP explores the concepts of (mis)Representation and Objectivity in Media.

Noor began by examining the misrepresentation of Muslims in US media and how this impacts American culture. She soon discovered a fuller exploration of the ever-evolving story of America, which challenged the stories we’ve known, and revealed how the stories we tell affect all of us.

REP is a thoughtful investigation of our beliefs and understandings and how they exist within the dynamic of politics, pop culture, and public opinion. This is a story about the stories we tell.

What to expect from REP Club

Our intention is to facilitate a sacred space to come together each week as witnesses to each other’s REP journeys while documenting our own from week to week.

Each week, you will update your journey in the form of questions and documentation in relation to REP Podcast.

Sessions feature intro reflections led by Noor Tagouri, group discussions with guests from REP, and breakout pods with the same group each week for deeper connection.

We ask that you arrive each week open and respectful, and we ask that you sign up if you intend to commit to the full program.

You do not need to have listened to REP before joining REP Club; we ask you to listen to each episode before their respective session.

In addition to our 6-week program, members of REP Club receive:

-Recordings of each week’s session

-Intimate bonds with your weekly pod and expansive relationships

-The opportunity to document your story/journey in any medium, with feedback and guidance from your peers

-Access to the AYS Private Discord Group to continue the journey; gatherings + meetups are often planned with our community here first.

-REP Club virtual reunion to checkpoint our journeys.

Testimonials

“Since REP Club, I've been working on the “Quest of a Question” and have made intentional efforts to speak and share what is on my mind, rather than repressing those thoughts and feelings. Instead of being numb, I'm trying to embrace honoring the feelings that I experience, however vulnerable, ugly, or embarrassed I may be.”

-Summer, Los Angeles

“Because the group was so vulnerable and honest it made me realize that we all feel the same things and deep down want the same things, not materialistically but in how they cause us to feel. Which in turn made me feel less alone in my thoughts and desires in a refreshing way that I had never stopped to ponder among regular conversations.”

-Ameera, Boston

“REP club has given me a new perspective on how I view certain situations. It has allowed me to have a clearer understanding and realization that no matter what race, gender and culture we are all connected in someway shape or form.”

-Jasmine, New York

“I’m gentler with myself. I’m more curious about my elders, curious about my own legacy. I find more poetry in daily life. I see the world in a kinder, more supportive way because I know offline communities can be created and are just so wonderful.”

-Lydia, Texas

“REP Club has lit a fire under me to go ahead and actually do the work of collecting my stories and pursue storytelling. “

-Juhi, New York
