About this event

Invite your mind, heart, body, and spirit to awaken in this gentle meditation practice.

Beginners and experienced meditators alike are welcome.

The benefits of meditation

Are unique to each individual, but people often experience less stress and anxiety, increase their sense of well-being, feel more accepting, and develop stronger feelings of connection.

Techniques and practices

In this welcoming space, you'll learn trauma sensitive medication techniques that will support you throughout life's challenges, sorrows, and joys, including shamtha, loving-kindness, and self-compassion practices.

To prepare for class

Consider what will support the body as it rests in stillness:

  • You may wish to lay on a yoga mat or sit in a chair.
  • If sitting on the floor, it's helpful to sit on a cushion to elevate the hips above the knees.
  • A blanket over the lap or shoulders can be grounding.
  • Please arrive with your camera on, and you may leave it on or turn it off during the practice.

Organized by

The Rooted Self offers preventative integrative experiential yoga based healing alongside stress reduction, self care respite, and spiritual nourishment to individuals moving through or beyond challenging life or health situations. This desire is based on the belief that we inherently have what we need within to encourage, support, facilitate, and sustain our life’s journey no matter how difficult the path.

The intention at The Rooted Self is to empower individuals towards manifesting a healing journey that is life-affirming and aligns with their present moment as it exists. It is important to know that “healing” at The Rooted Self is defined as finding balance in an imbalanced state and is achieved when ease returns to the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. This process beautifully manifests safely on the mat and extends beyond the mind into the nook of the soul.

The offerings at The Rooted Self are deeply rooted in spirit essence and experientially guide individuals in restoring an empowering compassionate relationship between their mind, body and spirit. A relationship that will intentionally support and facilitate deeper layers of healing, self expansion, inner trust, and intuitive knowing.

With the ancient wisdom and practices of yoga you will compassionately and physically reintroduce yourself to the body as it exists in its present moment. Through the beautiful practice of breath and energy work you will remove blocks that prevent a state of balance and connection to body conscious wisdom. Through the art of manifestation and intentional living, you will invite a mindset and emotional landscape that empowers you to manifest your intended outcome. In meditation you will reconnect with and nurture your inner wisdom, knowledge, and soul.

On this experiential journey you may re-discover parts of self that were previously inaccessible. These parts may have been “fragmented”, unrecognizable, or maybe even lost beneath your experience for a short while. The journey is not expected to be perfect, in fact, it will crumble and be re-built a few times, but it will be authentically yours. With a compassionate kindness you will be empowered to re-introduce yourself and honor the new wisdom that comes forth in your awakening.
