Please take notice of the length of the training session you wish to register for. Arriving late and/or leaving early will disqualify you from certification.

The Kent County Election’s Department works with your local City or Township Clerk to help you prepare for Election Day. After training is complete, all in attendance will receive a certification to assist with election administration that will be good for 2 years.

An Election Inspector must be a registered voter of the State of Michigan. They cannot be a challenger, candidate, or a member of a candidate's immediate family. You do not need to be a resident of the community in which you are working as an Election Inspector. You may not work as an election inspector if you have been convicted of a felony or election crime.

Precinct inspectors are covered by the federal Minimum Wage Act, although rates may vary by jurisdiction.
