Autism Basics
School districts in the southwest region of New Mexico are seeing an influx of students with Autism. As a result, there is a growing need for support to teachers who work with these students.
In this workshop, participants will learn from Joanna Cosbey, an expert in the field and parent of a child with autism. Joanna will share her knowledge in the following areas of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder):
- Communication techniques
- Understanding social behaviors
- Challenging behaviors
- Sensory supports
This workshop is appropriate for all educators, SPED Directors, and related service providers who work with students with ASD.
