Description

Authors and writers: Learn valuable copyright basics.

Authors, scribes, writers, and wordsmiths, you can't afford to ignore copyrights. Come and learn how copyrights play a role in your life, and how to protect your original works of authorship. Gain an understanding of how copyrights can add value to and protect your works while avoiding costly mistakes.

Acting Register of Copyrights and Director of the U.S. Copyright Office, Karyn A. Temple, will speak about on the importance of copyright for authors. Senior Copyright Counsel David Carson of the USPTO's Office of Policy and International Affairs will share valuable insights on copyright and the online marketplace. Also, a local authors forum will provide a platform where local authors share about their writings including providing tips for aspiring writers who are interested in sharing their story.
