When she isn’t reading, she can be found trying a new recipe in the kitchen or prepping for her next DnD session. Alex’s favorite genres are fantasy and horror. She is a sucker for a good magic system, reimagined fairy tales, and poetic prose. Stories by marginalized writers are of particular interest to her.

As a “cross imprint” editor, her focus is on licensed publishing across RP’s Adult, Kids, Studio, and Miniature imprints, but she also works on books for children (non-fiction and YA fiction) and adults (illustrated non-fiction) that explore and celebrate fandom, nerd culture, and the amazing communities that make them up. While all voices are welcome, she is specifically interested in hearing from Black, AAPI, Latine, LGBTQA+, disabled, and other marginalized voices offering their perspectives and work in the areas of pop/geek culture and fandom, and she is prioritizing work by those writers. Specific areas of interest for non-fiction are: video games, tabletop RPGS, anime and manga, beloved/nostalgic IP and brands, genre & foreign film and television, K-dramas, and other geeky spaces and communities. For YA fiction she is looking for: contemporary, upbeat, entertaining stories with passionate protagonists with geeky or nerdy hobbies as well as queer or geeky retellings/adaptations of “traditional” stories, tropes, or media. You can learn more about her wishes on manuscriptwishlist.com.

Catherine loves anything from the fantasy genre, from urban to high fantasy, young adult to new adult, she’ll read it all! But honestly she loves anything that has strong world-building, complex characters, and a twist. When Catherine is not reading (a rarity) she is likely watching old horror films or finding new places to travel.
