Introducing "Authorpreneur" – an exciting workshop crafted for aspiring authors eager to embrace their writing journey with an entrepreneurial spirit! This interactive experience is ideal for individuals seeking to turn their passion for storytelling into a thriving career.

Guest authors Luz Maria Mack and Janelle Harper will join us and share their experiences.

Luz Mack was born in Villa Mella, Dominican Republic, and immigrated to the United States as a young child with her family. She earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Metropolitan College of New York. She is a proud South Bronx resident, motivational speaker, cultural educator, and Dominican children's author, specializing in creating stories that celebrate culture and language and affirm children.

Janelle Harper is a Bronx native who proudly carries her New York accent anywhere she goes. She finds inspiration in city living and the diverse experiences of the African Diaspora. Janelle is a proud veteran public school teacher that comes from a long line of educators. She is passionate about creating stories that reflect the children in her family and Bronx neighborhood. Her debut picture book, My Block Looks Like, illustrated by Frank Morrison, was released in 2024 and her new picture book Salon Saturday, illustrated by Charlot Kristensen was released in September 2025. When she is not enjoying the hidden gems of The Bronx, Janelle is traveling and exploring new cultures.
