About this event

  • 1 hour

“It’s great that the story of Linda Kushner, and the community leaders who came together to save Providence’s community libraries, is being told. I’ve witnessed and been a part of many advocacy efforts over the years-but this one stands out to me because of the determination and persistence with which it was organized. And, because of the incredibly important result- the preservation of community libraries for all of the people of Providence.”

-David Cicilline

Kushner is a retired attorney who represented the East Side as a state legislator for 12 years, from 1982 to 1994. Always a problem solver and social organizer, in 2004 Linda turned her attention to the neighborhood libraries which were in danger of being extinguished.

Copies of the book will be on sale at the event. Linda is generously donating all proceeds to CLPVD!
