What: TEALS (<A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.tealsk12.org/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.tealsk12.org</A>) and TACSE (<A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.tacse.org/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.tacse.org</A>) are hosting the inaugural Austin Computer Science Fair, an exploratory event for Austin middle and high school students interested in studying computer science. The fair provides a venue for students to learn about the varied and exciting college and career paths in computer science! Come learn about robotics, computer security, computer programming, video game design and more! Meet professionals who work in the field and students working on computer science projects and learn what you could make if you start learning computer science.
There will be speakers from the Austin technology community, product demos, activities and a raffle for some amazing prizes. Lunch will be provided for participants that engage with our booth presenters. We aim to excite students, parents, educators and the community about the different career opportunities that result from the CS pathway.
When: Saturday April 9th, 2016. 10:00am – 2:30pm 
* Presentations at 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 2:00pm
Where: The Delco Center - 4601 Pecan Brook Dr, Austin, TX 78724 Who: We have capacity for 500 participants and wish to include as many students as possible! Students under the age of 18 will need a chaperone (at least 1 adult per twenty students).
<H2>Program Elements:</H2>
Computer Science Exploration Fair
Engineers from Austin tech companies, game studios, college CS departments, and STEM non-profits will host information booths, share their experiences, demo their latest products and developments, and answer student questions. Students may even walk away with handouts and swag!
Speaker Presentations
A discussion featuring a diverse group of technologists and entrepreneurs will discuss how computer science and technology have propelled their careers. The speakers represent career paths, projects, and industries, demonstrating that computer science is relevant to all types of careers, from fashion to social media to health! Students are encouraged to prepare appropriate questions for the Q&A session during the event.
Breakout Sessions
Small breakout sessions may be available for interested parents, educators, and industry representatives on specific topics around computer science education.
Student Raffle Raffle prizes will be available for our student participants!
