Aug 14-Oct 30: ONLINE Teaching Youcubed Data Science Course (2 hr sessions)

High school teachers, join the youcubed curriculum writing team* for a workshop to prepare to teach our full-year course, Explorations in Data Science! The training is conducted remotely via Zoom and offers in-depth sessions on all 8 units of the course, including hands-on experience with the technology tools in the course. This workshop is appropriate for anyone teaching Explorations in Data Science in the 2024-25 school year or later. The pace of professional development will provide training in time for classroom implementation on either a full year or semester schedule. The first session, on August 14, will cover most of Unit 1 so that attendees will be prepared to start teaching the course as soon as August 15. Attendees who plan to begin teaching the course prior to August 15 can learn about options for earlier training on Unit 1 by sending an email to: pdinfo@youcubed.org

Class sessions occur on ten select Wednesdays, 3:45 pm - 5:45 pm Pacific Time, on the following dates:

• August 21
• August 28
• September 11
• September 18
• October 2
• October 9
• October 16
• October 23
• October 30

All registered participants will receive an email before August 14 with a Zoom link that will be used for ALL sessions. After each session, a recording will be provided to all registered participants, regardless of whether they attended that week's live session, so that participants who wish to review the material or catch up on a session that they missed will have the opportunity to do so before the next week's session. All recordings, presenter slides and other resources will remain available to all registered participants for at least one year after the workshop end date.

Individual participants: $1,990 per person

Groups of 2 or more: $1,800 per person

Participants will receive a certificate verifying 20 Professional Development Hours (2 CEUs) after the final session of the workshop.

Each participant must log into the workshop individually, from their own device, to be admitted to the sesssion each week. We encourage teams of educators from the same school or district to participate in the workshop together and offer a discounted rate to groups of 2 or more; however, we do not permit groups to log in with a single registration. If multiple people from your school or district are planning to participate in this professional development, please ensure that each member of the group has a paid registration associated with their name.
