Established in 1947, the Tropical Audubon Society is a chapter of Audubon Of Florida and the National Audubon Society and is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Our Doc Thomas House headquarters is a Dade County Historic landmark that sits on three sub-tropical acres of native habitat known as The Steinberg Nature Center in the urban heart of South Miami.Tropical Audubon Society endeavors to conserve and restore natural South Florida ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife and their habitats through advocacy and education for the benefit of biological diversity and humanity itself.
