We are searching for community performers to join the company on stage next Christmas in a new production of this seasonal classic.

Ballet d'Jèrri is staging a new production of E T A Hoffmann's classic tale set to Tchaikovsky's iconic score.We are looking for community performers to take part in developing this work, which will premiere Winter 2026 at the Jersey Opera House.This is a rare opportunity to be part of a creative process and perform on stage in a large-scale professional ballet production — no previous dance experience required.<h3>Who we are looking for</h3><ul><li>Children aged 11–13</li><li>Adults aged 18-120</li><li>Enthusiastic, reliable individuals interested in being part of a professional theatre production</li></ul>Not all roles require formal dance training and there will be opportunities for a variety of ability levels.<h3>Audition details</h3>Saturday 14 March Location: the BDJ studio at Jersey Opera HouseAudition sessions<ul><li>12:00–13:30 – Children 11-13 years old</li><li>13:45–15:15 – Children 11-13 years old</li><li>16:00–18:00 – Adults (18+, all levels)</li></ul><h3>Important – capacity &amp; registration</h3><ul><li>Spaces are limited for each session</li><li>Registration is first come, first served</li><li>All participants must register in advance via Eventbrite</li><li>Walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a place</li></ul><h3>What to expect</h3>Auditions will be welcoming and accessible, focusing on:<ul><li>Drama and expression through movement</li><li>Movement quality and musicality</li><li>Confidence and stage presence</li><li>Willingness to engage and work as part of a group</li></ul>Selected performers will:<ul><li>Perform alongside the professional dancers of Ballet d’Jèrri</li><li>Take part in structured, supportive rehearsals</li><li>Be expected to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule</li></ul><h3>Information for parents, guardians, and participants</h3><ul><li>These auditions are for community performance roles, not professional dancer roles. Involvement is voluntary and unpaid</li><li>No previous dance experience is required to audition</li><li>Rehearsals will be age-appropriate, supervised, and professionally run</li><li>A clear rehearsal schedule and performance period will be provided in advance</li><li>Participation requires a commitment to rehearsals and performances</li><li>Spaces are limited, and registration does not guarantee casting</li><li>Initial development rehearsal period: July 27th-31st day time</li><li>Final rehersals will be scheduled at a later date but will take place in October and November in the evenings</li><li>Performance dates: Nov 26th evening, Nov 27th evening, Nov 28th matinee and evening, Nov 29th matinee</li></ul>
