ECONet is a network of professionals working in Environmental Education, Communications & Outreach. An ECO Net exists in each of the 12 counties surrounding Puget Sound, highlighting the regional approach necessary to protect such a vital and far-reaching resource.

ECONet and STORM are combing forces to offer a half-day training on Audience Research! Understanding your audience is critical to effective outreach and engagement.

How to use various types of existing research to identify, segment and evaluate your priority audience and market, and understand the issues and impact on your audience. Learn how audience research can help you identify and prioritize behaviors and inform development of behavior change strategies and messages.

Learn how to build strong and authentic relationships with your audience. Hear success stories and learn techniques on finding a cultural navigator, developing community trust, and framing your program to be relevant and responsive to audience needs. 
11:30 – 12:45 PM   Theory to Strategy: Designing Programs for Success Kristin Pace, Ph.D. Social Research Scientist Local Hazardous Waste Management Program, King County
Changing behaviors for good can be a daunting task. Fortunately, behavior change theory can provide a guide to identifying strategies for success. This presentation will explore how to use different data collection methods and the integrated model of behavior prediction to unearth ideas for designing interventions.

Join the speakers and other workshop attendees for lunch! Take advantage of this opportunity to discuss the training topics in more detail and connect with others who are trying to utilize audience research to better frame their outreach programs. Refrigeration provided if needed.
