AtoM 101

Artefactual Systems, based in New Westminster, BC, Canada, is the lead developer of the Access to Memory (AtoM) and Archivematica projects. We are archivists, librarians, developers, and systems administrators that are passionate about open-source and standards-based systems. We are also one of the most hard-working and respected technical crews in the archives and library community. We put out and support several Archivematicaand AtoMreleases a year and deliver technical services to a growing list of satisfiedclients.

This one day in-person training session is for anyone currently using or thinking about using AtoM to manage their collections.

This one day training session is for anyone currently using or thinking about using AtoM to manage their collections. The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to to learn about the platform from Artefactual archivists, from other users, and to share their experiences. The course will be delivered by lecture, demonstration, and hands-on exercises for participants. The topics covered will include: AtoM basics (including search and UI customisation), authority records and archival institutions, accession records and taxonomies, and managing access and permissions. If there is time and interest, we will cover importing records into AtoM as well.Expected outcomes if you attend this workshop:<ul><li>Gain experience using the AtoM application</li><li>Understand AtoM's basic entity types and their relationship to each other and recognised standards</li><li>B﻿e able to create custom static pages in the user interface</li><li>Be able to create and manage records in AtoM</li><li>Understand AtoM's import and export functionality and perform an import</li><li>Be able to control permissions and access to records and digital objects in AtoM</li><li>Connect with other AtoM users</li></ul>
