About the eventThis workshop has been designed to provide you with an overview of team-based learning (TBL) and the potential of developing asynchronous TBL activities. You will learn the components of the team-based learning process, compare delivery in synchronous versus asynchronous formats, and benefits in both for instructors and students. You will explore technologies and tips and tricks to help you develop new asynchronous active learning or transform current team-based learning to new asynchronous formats.Learning ObjectivesBy the end of this session, participants will be able to:<ul><li>Describe the key elements of team-based learning</li><li>Compare synchronous versus asynchronous models of team-based learning</li><li>Identify resources, technologies, and instructional interventions to facilitate effective asynchronous team-based learning activities</li></ul>Who this is for?<ul><li>Educators, instructional designers, who are interested in increasing flexibility in curriculum or instruction through asynchronous application practices.</li><li>Educators, instructional designers who are considering transforming their existing team-based learning activities to an asynchronous format.</li></ul>About the facilitator<a href="https://pharmacy.osu.edu/directory/zach-woods" title="https://pharmacy.osu.edu/directory/zach-woods" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Zach Woods, PharmD, BCACP</a>Dr. Woods is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at The Ohio State University, where he teaches healthcare topics and specializes in gamification and team-based learning design. His research interests include optimizing course assessments, trauma-pedagogy, and innovative teaching practices.
