Please note that the business meeting, scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m., requires a quorum of General Assembly voting Delegates to review and approve the ABAG Budget and Work Program for the coming year. We greatly encourage General Assembly Delegates to join us for that portion of the program.

Delegates, please note that this event will be held in person with no option for remote attendance. Please register by Monday, June 17, to ensure we have quorum.

General Assembly Delegates will review and approve the Budget and Work Program, present ABAG’s major accomplishments and describe the planned work of the next fiscal year. The Business Meeting agenda will be available at https://abag.ca.gov/meetings and https://mtc.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.

Resilience: Innovative Governance for Regional Challenges

Learn about regional issues that cannot be tackled solely by individual jurisdictions and the innovative ways local governments are collaborating on solutions to address environmental challenges. Panelists will discuss their respective projects and ongoing collaborations, followed by audience Q&A.

Keynote Speaker: Shalini Vajjhala

Shalini is the Executive Director of PRE Collective and a nationally recognized infrastructure and climate resilience expert with more than 15 years of experience designing, funding, and financing community-centered resilient infrastructure solutions. Over the last decade, she founded and led the design firm re:focus partners and co-founded The Atlas, an online platform for local government collaboration and innovation. Previously, Shalini held multiple positions at the US EPA and the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She is currently a Board Member of Smart Growth America and a nonresident senior fellow with the Brookings Institution Metro Program. Shalini holds a B.Arch in Architecture and Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
