Taking from the success of our first event in Bangkok, ABCs of Entrepreneurship now comes to Manila on July 15th at The Astbury, Makati!

The ‘ABCs of Entrepreneurship’ is co-hosted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation For Freedom SEEA and WOWS Global with a primary objective to empower and educate the local SEEA startup and young professional ecosystem on entrepreneurial best practices.

By convening panels of experienced expert founders as well as investors, FNF, Brainsparks and WOWS hope to give attendees exposure to seasoned leaders who are best positioned to guide future leaders.

Agenda:

The event will begin with a Knowledge Session [A to Z of Startup Fundraising] led by WOWS Global Founder & CEO Gagan Singh followed by an Investor Panel discussion and later a pitch showcase.

Session 1: A to Z of Startup Fundraising: Simplifying the Jargon. [2pm]

This session will be an informative presentation simplifying key business fundraising abbreviations, metrics and terminology for founders and young professionals to better understand. It will be led by WOWS Global Founder & CEO Gagan Singh.

The content itself will be curated primarily from WOWS Global’s A to Z of Fundraising e-book. The WOWS team will shortlist 6 -10 key concepts from the e-book to include in the presentation and will compile the final version by early Q2.

Session 2: Investor Panel: A Glimpse into the Variety of Investors [3:30pm]

This panel will feature different types of investors including VC investors, PE investors, Family Offices and Angel investors. The objective of the session is to give attendees an insight into the diversity in investor type, investor investment thesis and investment preference. Some key areas to be covered include geographical preference, range in average check sizes, industry biases and preferences, capital deployment rates, relationship with LPs and internal structures, existing portfolio, key criteria for founders and more.

Session 3: Showcasing Filipino Startups: Best Pitch Practices [5pm]

This session will showcase 4-5 selected PH startups ranging stages and sectors. Each founder will have no more than 10 minutes for a pitch. Following each pitch, Investor Panelist from Session 2 will be invited to give feedback to the startups. The key purpose of this session is for attendees to understand how startup pitches have similarities and differences depending on the startup, sector and the founder themselves.
