  • Event lasts 1 day 8 hours
  • At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.
  • You will also consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.
  • This workshop will increase your willingness, confidence, and capacity to provide suicide first aid.
  • Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment.
  • This is a 2 day course June 5-6 -both days are required for 15 contact hours; CE Units available

CONTACT Care Line serves as East Tennessee's first line of defense against suicide-related injury and death. While suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States, it is preventable.

CONTACT is the region's 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, answering nearly 60,000 phone calls, texts, and online chats each year. Its mission begins in East Tennessee but extends across the U.S. CONTACT is one of twenty Lifeline Crisis Chat and Text Crisis centers that serve as the national backup for crisis centers across the country. CONTACT is also one of six centers nationwide that form the Spanish-language 988 Lifeline.

CONTACT also provides training in suicide intervention across East Tennessee, along with other programs to support survivors of suicide loss.
