We are excited to offer you an opportunity to participate in a media training workshop. 
The aim of the workshop is to reinforce the importance of public engagement and provide vital resources to statisticians who would like to be active outside of their field.

<LI>1:00-2:30 pm Active Learning Activity: elevator pitches and media interviews</LI>

By the end of the workshop session we want participants to feel more comfortable and confident in engaging with journalists, policy makers, and the public and to walk away with concrete examples of how they can participate in public discussions. Best of all -- There will be no fee for participation! 
 The workshop will be held in conjunction with the <A HREF="http://ww2.amstat.org/meetings/ssi/2017/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ASA Symposium on Statistical Inference</A> at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda but participation is NOT limited to conference attendees.
