Who should take these classes?

These classes are for anyone who wants to have fun while cultivating emotional resilience through art and creating from an inner voice to explore unique visual narratives.

I like the idea of this class, but do I need prior art-making experience?

Many people don’t identify as “artistic,” but this class’s special surprise is that everyone is creative. No artistic expertise is needed to participate. It’s preferable if you don’t know “how to do it” and create art based on how it feels and looks best to you. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist; you only need to be open to the experience.

Art Experiences and Materials:

Each weekly art experience is designed as a platform for personal reflection. All art experiences are connected to health and wellness themes.

You are guided to experience such art processes as Expressive Bookmaking, Personal Geography Maps, Finding Your Muse, Responding to Life with Grace and Gratitude, The Art of Rituals, Inner and Outer Travel Vignettes, Mail Art Swaps and Exchanges, Self-Compassion and Gratitude, Altars and Shrines, Blackout Art + Poetry, Art Doll Making, Alternative Mandalas, Abandoned Art, Holding Space for Ourselves and Others, Life with Roots and Wings, Kintsugi Vision, and Silvering: The New Old Age.

Materials are suggested for each weekly art experience. Classes typically involve mixed media such as painting, drawing, clay, inks, craft embellishments, old books, wood blocks, boxes, patterned papers, image transfers, fabrics, photographs, and found objects. There is always a free choice of materials and media for every art experience. You may already have most materials available at home that can be used for each class, so there is no need to purchase new ones.

We can't wait to help you tap into the healing power of art! Register for the coming term now if all this unusual art amazingness has whetted your appetite and you want more.

A Zoom link and a class guide will be emailed before each class term starts.
