Please note: This event will be held in our upstairs Lecture Room. Due to the age of our building, this space is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

An occult crafts workshop, ARTS & WITCHCRAFTS is designed to use occult practices as artistic inspiration, as well as putting creativity back into your occult practices. Through working with our hands, we create a physical sense memory, making it a fun way to learn, and an easier way to integrate magic into your everyday life. Some may get overwhelmed with the amount of supplies and information they think they need to learn basic witchcraft principals, but this class is designed to streamline both into a fun afternoon. Led by artist Cherokee Neas, each class will begin with a short lecture on the metaphysical aspects of the subject, then guests will be given supplies to make their own projects.

In this class we will go over the foundations of how to create a tarot card from scratch. This class will go in depth dissecting the images and themes of one particular card – THE CHARIOT, and what it means to continue moving forward despite life's speed bumps and challenges. After discussing the meaning of the card and analyzing the symbolism portrayed in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, we'll look through various examples of interpretations from other artists and how to channel it through your own unique viewpoint. All levels of artistic ability are welcome, and drawing materials will be provided. Each guest will receive blank tarot card templates to draw on and will have time for brainstorming their own concept, so that every person's card will look different.

Through drawing our own version of The Chariot, we create a deeper understanding of the card and our own personal connection to it.

Join us as we transform our practices and engage with Tarot in a new and profoundly personal way!

About Cherokee Neas

Cherokee Neas was raised by a family of artists who encouraged, or rather demanded, that she take art classes her entire life, starting from as early as she can remember. Now she primarily works as a photographer, stylist, and clothing designer, but also draws, writes, paints, sews, builds things, collages, and has dabbled in almost every medium of art.

In 2023, she started a company to host metaphysical artist retreats, after realizing how many artists she knew were also interested in metaphysics and witchcraft, most of whom did not have a like minded community to share these interests with. In planning her retreat, she came up with more art activities than attendees would have time to do, and she had the idea to expand them into art classes that would be more accessible to the public.

She has had a lifelong fascination with the occult, witchcraft, fairy tales, and folklore. She has studied astrology and tarot and is always trying to learn more.
