Build and test Artificial Inteligence using Scratch
AI is the art and science of creating programmes that mimic human intelligence and is a crucially important topic in computer science. This workshop will use two Scratch programs to illustrate the creation of artificial intelligence, and examine its usefulness and limitations.
Session 1: 1.00 – 1.50: Introduction to AI and wall follower algorithm, begin maze game
Session 2: 2.05 – 2.50: Finish and discuss maze game. Begin Tron game
Session 3: 3.10 – 4.00: Finish and discuss Tron game

What is Haslingfield Coding Club?
Haslingfield Coding Club, a Code Club affiliated club, was set up in 2014 to provide a fun and innovative club to teach children at Haslingfield Primary School to code. Sessions are run by Phil Golden who is a Minecraft Certified Educator and a Barefoot Computing volunteer supporting ICT teaching in primary schools in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. Sessions are further supported by parent volunteers with experience in Scratch, BBC Microbit and Minecraft Education. Haslingfield Coding Club runs two morning clubs and is currently enabling 32 children aged 5 - 10 years old to have fun with coding. All adults involved in Haslingfield Coding Club have been DBS checked and undergone safeguarding training. An emergency aid trained helper will at be each camp session.
Haslingfield PTFA is organising the Kids Coding Camp and is very grateful to Haslingfield Coding Club for providing the coding know-how. All the proceeds from this event will go to Haslingfield Primary School.
Who can attend the Kids Coding Camp?
The camp is open to children in KS2 and KS3 (Years 3 - 9) only.
What should my child bring to the camp?
Your child should bring snacks and a drink. Please no fizzy drinks or products containing nuts. Everything else your child needs for the camp will be provided. Each child will have their own laptop and dependant on the session a Microbit and/or access to Scratch and Minecraft Education.
