ArtBash Live: Passover

Since its founding in 1984, The Contemporary Jewish Museum (The CJM) has distinguished itself as a welcoming place where visitors can connect with one another through dialogue and shared experiences with the arts. Ever changing, The CJM is a non-collecting institution that partners with national and international cultural institutions to present exhibitions that are both timely and relevant and represent the highest level of artistic achievement and scholarship.

Join the art-making festivities at The CJM's ArtBash Live inspired by Passover! Drop by one of several Bay Area locations to pick up a FREE art kit filled with all the supplies you’ll need. Then, gather with us on Zoom to celebrate bookmaking and intergenerational storytelling through hands-on art projects. Passover centers on the dramatic and symbolic retelling of the ancient story of the exodus from Egypt, and we can’t wait to share the story with you through inventive projects filled with journeys, characters, and lots of surprises.Tell a friend! People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join in the fun and make art with us. Register today to reserve your free art-making kit, and choose your pickup location. Then, tune in live via Zoom on March 21 to create and celebrate with us.Can’t make it to the live event? CJM staff will facilitate a safe and physically distanced pick up. The Contemporary Jewish Museum (The CJM), the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation (EJK Foundation), the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), and the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) are pleased to present student work from the 2021 Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Project. While this year’s program was quite different, we are excited to share and celebrate a selection of student-made books at The CJM’s ArtBash Live! School librarians, teachers, or students who are interested in participating can email us at schools@thecjm.org and can also post student-made books with the hashtag #EJKBookSF2021
