Creativity is proven to have positive effects in reducing anxiety, boosting mood, and improving focus... the list of benefits goes on and on! This ongoing class builds on elements discussed in Creative Mindfulness and Virtual Art Making Classes.

Combining art with journaling can be truly enjoyable and enrich our lives. It can create a sense of self-awareness, encourage us, empower us, and inspire us. Each week, we will have a different creative prompt and spend time learning and using a variety of art making processes and techniques, all while using supplies found around the house!

Each class will take place from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. CT. You are welcome to attend all sessions of the class, or just drop in when you are available. Just register once to receive a reminder email each week!

Please note that we will not meet on Memorial Day, Monday May 27.

Suggested supplies: Pen or pencil, paper or a notebook, scissors, glue or other adhesive, other art supplies. You are welcome to participate with or without these supplies!

Join our Facebook group to connect with us and other participants, and to share your art: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mathercreativeprograms

You will receive a confirmation email that includes the Zoom link for your program, and the reminder emails each week will also contain the Zoom link.

If this is your first time accessing Zoom, or if you need a refresher, we’ve put together a few resources from around the web that should help!

  • Here is a guide on the basics from Zoom: https://youtu.be/pAMDxH_H_Cs
  • If you are using your phone or a tablet, the easiest way to access Zoom is by downloading the Zoom app, as shown here: https://youtu.be/0NBARnBxk-Y (Note that while this video shows an iPhone, other phones will have a similar process. The “App Store” for Android phones is called the “Play Store” or “Google Play Store.”)
  • And for even more detailed information, you can go to our partner Candoo Tech’s website for a library of tech guides: https://www.candootech.com/mather
