Art in Motion--Live Painting by Ric Standridge to the sounds of Rad Dad

Experience an unforgettable afternoon as we kick off Artisphere with a stunning fusion of art and music. Renowned artist Ric Standridge brings his dynamic live painting performance to the soulful sounds of RadDad, creating a mesmerizing blend of sight and sound. Ric Standridge is an artist, founder of the South Carolina Children’s Theatre and former Recruitment Director for the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts. He is also a synesthete, seeing various colors when specific instruments are played, and shapes and textures during song arrangements. In 2006, he produced his first “Live Painting” show, a two-hour production, that consisted of a sophisticated, rehearsed stage production of painting a total of 64 canvases, live to a catalog of the Beatles songs. The Love Show was a huge success and was the beginning of many productions, The Liberty Rock Show, The Gospel Show, Vissi de aete, Vissi de amore Opera, in 2023 - Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon Show.

As RadDad fills the air with their signature rhythm and melody, Ric will transform the energy of the music into a vibrant masterpiece, painted in real time before your eyes. Watch as brushstrokes move with the beat, capturing the essence of the moment on canvas.

Join us for this one-of-a-kind, immersive event—where music inspires art, and art brings music to life. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this extraordinary collaboration as we celebrate the beginning of the Artisphere!
