Event description

Description

Facilitated by Abby Schnure

Weaving is one of the most ancient crafts of mankind and with this deep long history has manifested in different myths and metaphors throughout the world. In this class we will be learning the basics of weaving alongside these myths and metaphors as a contemplative lens for a deeper understanding of the structures of our lives, our relationships (both internal & external) and our being in this big world. Together we will start from the beginning by building our own frame looms and weave up from there. No experience is necessary, just an open heart-mind.

Abby Schnure is a conceptual weaver, educator and community arts organizer living and working in Cincinnati, OH. She received her BFA in Textile Arts from Kent State University in 2016. Since, she has taught weaving for children to seniors and believes that weaving can be for everyone. You can find her around town with her loom in tow with an enthusiasm to teach weaving to anyone who is interested.
