Overview

Demystify Watercolor Painting! Begin with a gentle yoga flow then create a sweet watercolor painting one layer at a time.

No one turned away for lack of funds. Reach out for free or discounted tickets.

After trying out different subject matter for over a year, we have been pleasantly surprised with how well people do when giving the freedom to create their own compositions. Although some exquisite work did come from working from photographs, there is a special feeling that enters the room when we are painting from life, intuition, and imagination. So, we will alternate through painting Seasonal Still Lifes, "Paint Your Feelings", and "Mosaic Painting". Pick the one that calls to you or try all three! Descriptions Below.

January -Seasonal Still Life

February - Paint Your Feelings

March - Mosaic Painting

April - Seasonal Still Life

May - Paint Your Feelings

June - Mosaic Painting

July - Seasonal Landscape

August - Paint Your Feelings

Sept -Mosaic Painting

October -Seasonal Still Life

November - Paint Your Feelings

December - Mosaic Painting

Mosaic Painting: With this style we will focus on playing value of colors and the use of outlines and crisp detials. Participants will create abstract or figuarive images with geometric shapes mimicking tiles. A thin base layer of color will unigy the piece and then the meditative porcess of filling in the "tiles" will bring it into focus.

Paint Your Feelings: We will do a brief meditation to get in touch with whatever is present in the moment. Then we will continue with an intuitive process to paint what we are feeling. Malike will offer guidance on watercolor techniques to help participants create an image to give home to whatever feelings are wanting a place to land.

Seasonal Landscape: Will it be flowers? Will it be house plants? Random trinkets? That all depends on what's in season and what catches Malika's eye. Participants are welcome to bring one or two items to add to the delightful Still Lifes. We will focus on composition, layering, and some color theory as we paint.
