Art After Work

Founded in 1991, Intuit is a premier museum of outsider and self-taught art, defined as work created by artists who faced marginalization, overcame personal odds to make their artwork, and who did not, or sometimes could not, follow a traditional path of art making, often using materials at hand to realize their artistic vision. By presenting a diversity of artistic voices, Intuit builds a bridge from art to audiences. The museum's mission—to celebrate the power of outsider art—is grounded in the ethos that powerful art can be found in unexpected places and made by unexpected creators.

Art After Work is a monthly series of drop-in art making inspired by Intuit’s exhibitions and the outsider art genre.

Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art

Every third Thursday, IAM is open late! Drop in after hours to explore the Museum. Each Art After Work offers something different, from gallery activations to artmaking activities there is always something new to explore.

This month, AAW is hosted by Intuit's Young Professionals Board! The "Yo Pros" are a group of Intuit ambassadors who work together to support Intuit and spread awareness about the genre of outsider art. Sketch in the galleries, then step into our work space to get the creative juices flowing with after hours refreshments, collaging, painting and more maker activities. Materials are provided, though all are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks, current projects and personal visions. Art After Work is held every third Thursday of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. Join the community by tagging @IntuitArtCenter in your photos with the hashtag #ArtAfterWork﻿
