Exploring Opportunities for Improvement in Forensic Sciences, a Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE)
The Arizona Forensic Science Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the first of the 2024 Arizona Forensic Science Lecture Series. These lectures cover a variety of topics relevant to the forensic science community within the state of Arizona and are intended for forensic science practitioners including forensic scientists, crime scene response personnel, crime lab management, and other criminal justice partners.
This presentation will explore each of opportunities for improvement in three critical areas of the forensic sciences by 1) reviewing the history of reform in forensic science and other domains, 2) providing a primer on the statistics & probability needed to mature our methods, and 3) exploring good and bad examples of reporting language, testimony, & jury instructions.
