O﻿ur events are ticketed with a solidarity pricing scheme. Those who can are encouraged to pay a little more, and those who need it are encouraged to accept a discount. The idea is that by paying on a sliding scale, we hope to foster more justice, equity and diversity in our food system.W﻿hat Should I Pay Within The Solidarity Pricing Scheme?We Suggest You Consider- paying the solidarity rate if you agree with one of more of the below:I feel I am able to and would like to stand in solidarity with others.I feel I am able to stand in solidarity with the work of Lauriston Farm to promote biodiversity and restore habitats.I am able to meet all of my basic needs and have some disposable income.Have access to savings and/or inherited money.Your rent/mortgage payments are less than 30% of your monthly income.- paying the discounted rate if you agree with one or more of the below:You frequently stress about meeting basic needs and don’t always achieve them.You have no or very limited expendable income.You do unpaid care work.You do not qualify for state funds due to your immigration status.Support children or other dependents on one income.Have to work part time / are on a low income i.e. working less than 16 hours per week.

Roll up! Roll up!Come to a Bunfight for better BREAD with songs, stories and ‘jammy pieces’Pan, plain, panini or paratha...it may be a LOAF-CHANGING experience!A new storytelling show in development about the contentious history and politics of bread from The Breadagogues (Marie Louise Cochrane, Suzanne Houston and Andrew Whitley) expect fun, flour, sourdough starters and recipes (and a taste of real bread).Running time is around an hour, &amp; the Breadagogues would like your feedback afterwards to help improve the impact of the show.This show is free, but seats are limited, so please book to guarantee a reservation for the show. Unreserved standing places will also be available on the day.The show and audience seating will be under an outdoor gazebo.We're hoping for fair weather, but, please do bring layers to keep cosy and dry.Seating is limited to 24 places (free, but booking necessary).There will also be space for around a further 14 to stand (free, no booking necessary).How to Get Here &amp; Access InfoThe farm is located just through the gate that leads off from Toby Carvery's car park on Lauriston Farm Road, EH4 5EX.Access is over rough ground and hard standing.Please contact us directly in advance, or speak to a volunteer steward on the day to discuss any further access needs and we'll do our best to support your inclusion at our event.We encourage participants to travel by foot, bike or public transport when possible.There are bike racks on site to lock your bike to.Lothian Buses: 16, 27,29 and 37 all come very close to the farm - within a few minutes walk from the bus stop.There is ample residential parking in the neighbouring areas.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -"Arise" is part of Lauriston Agroecology's free Harvest Celebration, taking place at Lauriston Farm on Saturday the 30th September.The full programme of events is as follows :2pm - 3pm : “Arise” Storytelling Show from The Breadagogues2pm - 3pm : Soil Explorations in the field &amp; under the microscope with Lauriston Soil Lab2pm - 4pm : Apple Pressing with Lauriston Farm’s Orchard Group2.30pm - 3.15pm : Herbal Walk with Grass Roots Remedies3.00 onwards : Food from Scran Academy3 - 3.10pm : Spoken Word from Vicky Nyanga-Ndiaye3.10pm - 4.10pm : Shunpike Social Club - Cumbia, Brazilian and Cuban music with big band flair3.15pm - 4pm : Soil Appreciation Writing Workshop with Vicky Nyanga-Ndiaye3.30pm - 5pm : Herbal Tea Bag Making with Grass Roots Remedies4pm - 5.30pm : Grain Processing with a pedal powered mill (TBC)4.10pm - 4.20pm : Spoken Word from Ayden Brouwers4.20pm - 4.30pm : “Soil Health = Community Health” Cranky Theatre Show4.30pm - 5.30pm : Open Music Session hosted by Shea Martin and Omar Afif, feel free to play or just listen to the audible pleasures.
