Argentine Tango

The 14th Street Y is a vibrant Jewish community center located in downtown Manhattan. Each year, tens of thousands of New Yorkers of all ages, races, and ethnicities come to 14Y as members, visitors, or partners to experience our high quality and varied programs centered around arts and culture, early childhood education, summer camps, fitness and aquatics, Jewish life, and older adult services.

Argentine Tango workshop focusing on balance, musicality, connection and learning a short combination at the end. All levels welcome.

Argentine Tango is danced socially around the world. This workshop will focus on exercises in walking forward and back to increase your balance. We will walk alone and with partners. (You may attend alone or bring a partner). We will work on musicality and connection and learn a short combination at the end. Lexa Rosean has been dancing and teaching tango since 1995. She is the 2008 US Tango Champion and also DJs in the milongas (tango parties). All levels welcome. Free for 14Y Members. All others $25.
