Arabia Alliance Reads: Walk and Talk with Bennett Parten

Arabia Reads is thrilled to bring historian Bennet Parten to Black Dot Cultural Center in Lithonia to sign and read from his new book Somewhere Toward Freedom. As part of our Juneteenth week of programming, Parten will read from the book and also lead a one-hour Walk & Talk around Lithonia. Together, we’ll relive Sherman’s March to the Sea as it passed through the historic downtown and how this became a Juneteenth-like emancipation for many Black Georgians.
