The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa Presents
Overview

Aquafox is the artist name of Rachel Perry; a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and native to Orange County

Aquafox on Friday, May 1 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, CA!

Aquafox is the artist name of Rachel Perry; a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and native to Orange County. This will be her album release show. Performing in bands since she was a child, she has shared the stage with countless world-famous acts such as The Beach Boys, The Bangles, The Motels, Jan and Dean, Missing Persons, and many more. Crafting every aspect of her music, from the drums and basslines to the layered vocal harmonies, her debut self-titled album Aquafox is a musical force to be reckoned with. Drawing on influences from Garbage, The Cardigans, The Beatles, Tame Impala, Muse, Gorillaz and Metric, the album takes you through a journey of self-destruction, reflection, and recovery. The lyrical content illuminates dark themes of betrayal, alcoholism, and severe depression by drawing on true events from Rachel's personal life. The genre-defying album will have you mezmerized with elements of rock, folk, twee, heavy rock, electronic, synth pop, and psychedelic rock sprinkled throughout. With Ashley Dylan on bass, Paula Kobelt on drums, and Olivia Malbran on guitar and keys, Aquafox is an all-female band under the direction of Rachel Perry (vocals and guitar). The night will be a celebration of the Aquafox debut album release, with support from local female musician friend Carmela. Aquafox will be performing the album from beginning to end in its entirety.
