App Authors Coding Club

Mahomet Public Library

For students entering grades 5 and 6 in Fall 2019
Learn basic coding skills and develop your own app! You'll show off the app at an App Showcase on the last day.
App Authors is a seven-week series, meeting every Thursday for three hours in June and July except July 4.  Each week builds on the previous week. Students can safely miss a week and catch up, but participants will need to be able to attend a majority of the sessions to successfully build an app.  
The course follows a curriculum developed at the School iof Information Sciences at the University of Illinois. Each week students will:

Learn new coding concepts and definitions through non-digital activites (approximately 1 hour)
</LI>
<LI CLASS="para">
Practice the concepts online with basic coding  (approximately 1 hour)
</LI>
<LI CLASS="para">
Apply the concepts to the app they are designing  (approximately 1 hour)
</LI>
</UL>
Space is limited and students must register in advance. Registration will open on Monday, April 29.
