To earn the CPIM designation, a professional must pass a series of five exams to demonstrate mastery of essential terminology, concepts, and strategies related to production and inventory management. The San Diego CITD and DSN for Global Trade & Logistics, in collaboration with the San Diego Chapter of APICS, is offering courses designed to prepare professionals for each of the certification exams.

Course: APICS CPIM Part 1: Basics of Supply Chain Management

This course provides basic definitions and concepts for planning and controlling the flow of materials into, through, and out of an organization. It explains fundamental relationships among the activities that occur in the supply chain from suppliers to customers. In addition, the course addresses types of manufacturing systems, forecasting, master planning, material requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, purchasing, inventory management, distribution, quality management, and Just-in-Time manufacturing

This course is 8 weeks and meets once per week on Wednesdays from 6 PM - 9 PM on the following dates: 10/18/17, 10/25/17, 11/01/17, 11/08/17, 11/15/17, 11/29/17, 12/06/17, 12/13/17

Cecilia Anderson CPIM, CSCP, CLTD

A Supply Chain and Operations Management strategic leader with 20 years of manufacturing experience across different industries and management positions within manufacturing,  Currently holds a position as Supply Chain Manager for a San Diego Inventory Management company.

Certified by University of California, San Diego UCSD as Black Belt Six Sigma Certificate,  Lean Enterprise Certificate and Specialized Purchasing Certificate.

Sharing her knowledge and experience with other professionals as an APICS IDP instructor for CPIM and  CSCP certification programs since 2011. A fluent Spanish speaker.
