Aperçu

In honor of May's Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), join APALA Pittsburgh for a cook-along fundraising event!

This will be the first in a two-part series of cook-along sessions, led by local Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) chefs.

This first session will be led by Itha Cao, chef and owner of The Hungry Cao! She will be showing us how to make dumplings!

Attendees will purchase tickets, and all proceeds from ticket sales will supplement a fund for direct relief for local AAPI workers and the Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh (FAAP). The events will also feature personal stories from AAPI restaurant workers in the Pittsburgh area, with the goal of celebrating the dedication, knowledge, and expertise of restaurant workers.

Donation Tier:

$25 = Your $25 donation will support APALA Pittsburgh’s work to advance workers’ and immigrants’ rights.

$50 = Your $50 donation will help us get more AAPI community members vaccinated.

$100 = Your $100 donation will sponsor translations of pandemic cash assistance materials into one Asian language.

$400 = Your $400 donation will sponsor cash assistance to 1 AAPI recipient.

$1000= Your $1000 donation will sponsor cash assistance to 2 AAPI families and help us promote the cash assistance program.

$2000 = Your $2000 donation will sponsor cash assistance to 2 AAPI families and co-sponsor this fundraiser.

Share with your friends and use the #APALAcookalong21 to raise awareness and get the word out! Come out to the event to follow along with some local AAPI chefs as they show us how to cook some of their signature recipes!

**We will be emailing the recipes to those who order tickets, so please include a functional email that you check often!
