Join APA|DC on Tuesday, June 25th at 12pm EST on Zoom for 30 Minutes with Hair and Makeup Artist Connie Tsang! Connie will discuss how a HMUA can work along with other members of your team so that the whole is great than the sum of its parts, and bust some myths about HMU along the way. She'll be open to discussion and Q&As to help us walk away with concrete tips we can all use.

About Connie:
Connie Tsang is a DC-based hair and makeup artist (HMUA) with 16 years of experience in commercial photo and video productions She specializes in using makeup and hair styling to help tell a story on camera. Her work has appeared in Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, and ELLE. Her clients include AARP, Apple, Amazon, Capital One, Neiman Marcus, NPR, PBS, and the Ritz-Carlton.

Before becoming an HMUA, Ms. Tsang was a portrait artist. She discovered the magic of makeup by chance after running out of pigments for the cheek. She then instinctively grabbed a blush compact from the drawer and used the enclosed brush to buff the peachy powder onto the paper. The result was so realistic that she decided to try it on real people!

Over the years, Ms. Tsang has worked with brands big and small and people from all walks of life. Working long hours in the portrait studio gave her meticulous eyes. Later, working on set of national live TV made her hands nimble.

While the makeup brush is no magic wand, she aims to create magical moments for the photographers and DPs she works with by bringing out the best of those in her chair.
