About this event

From time immemorial, humans have made use of the senses to interact with the world around them. There is nothing in our knowledge that did not pass through our senses first. Reflect on this journey with our narrator and experience the intrigue of smell, the comfort of touch, the enchantment of hearing, the delight of taste, and the feeling of sight.

Neena Gulati and the Triveni School of Dance announce the debut of "ANUBHAVA: The Senses" choreographed and performed by the Triveni Ensemble. The show features Indian Classical Dance in the styles of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Odissi.

ANUBHAVA showcases brand new choreography that features explosive footwork, graceful, yet powerful movement, and nuanced retelling of ancient Indian mythology.

Audiences have called Triveni Ensemble shows "scintillating", "a complete delight", "touching", "inspiring", "each year it is even more spectacular than the last!"

Please join the Triveni Ensemble for ANUBHAVA on Friday, May 10 at 8:00pm and Saturday, May 11 at 3:00pm at the Boston University Dance Theater. All proceeds will benefit the Perkins School for the Blind - India, which brings education to the estimated one million children with disabilities and vision impairment.

Triveni School of Dance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and performance of Indian classical dance, social awareness, and the celebration of cultural diversity, founded in 1971 by Neena Gulati - an award-winning and acclaimed dancer from New Delhi, India. The school, based in Brookline, MA, trains dancers every week in three forms of Indian classical dance: Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. In addition, the Triveni Ensemble gives many performances annually - including benefits for other charities - at multicultural events, schools, community centers, and universities where lectures are combined with demonstrations and workshops.
