This High Tech & Interactive event is focused on Parametric FEA & CFD Simulation using ANSYS.

Eastern NC (ENCS) ASME Section is presenting this online technical training event to help their members and the community stay current with the latest technology for workplace &amp; remote engineering work.
This High Tech &amp; Interactive event is focused on Parametric FEA Simulation. ANSYS FEA Software will be used for examples, but the topics presented will apply equally well to most FEA software. FEA in general helps accelerate product design &amp; development because products of all sizes and disciplines can be tested and iterated faster and at lower cost digitally on the computer compared to real-life physical prototypes. FEA technology enables better and faster &quot;Data-Driven&quot; design decisions, by running parametric Sensitivity &amp; Optimization studies in greater detail and thru a larger design space than is typically feasible in the physical world. 

This event will incorporate technical instruction as well as &quot;live&quot; interactive parametric FEA examples. This will be a unique event in that the attendees will help guide certain aspects of the FEA examples in real-time! Bio of Presenter:
This event is being led by Michael Hiller, a former ENCS ASME chairperson who joined ASME while a student studying for his BSME &amp; MSME at NCSU. After graduating, Mike&#x27;s interest in FEA really solidified while developing Multiphysics (Structural + Thermal + Magnetic) Simulations at a large Energy company participating on the Super Conducting Super Collider project. When funding prospects for &quot;SSC&quot; construction waned, Michael leveraged his FEA enthusiasm and industrial experience to earn roles in the ANSYS FEA Software Sales channel in both Pittsburgh (home of ANSYS) as well as the Carolinas. 

While working in the ANSYS Software sales channel he honed &quot;insider expertise&quot; w/CAD &amp; FEA tools while supporting pre-sales activities, tech support, consulting work, and teaching assignments at ANSYS headquarters as well as at reseller &amp; remote sites. He has even taught classes at ANSYS conferences.

Mike left the sales channel when a fledgling NC-based semiconductor R&amp;D group purchased multiple ANSYS seats for 6 young engineers and needed to make rapid progress - - they made Mike an offer he couldn&#x27;t refuse! As the challenging &amp; fun 10-month FEA-implementation project wrapped up, the client reported their satisfaction with his work and calculated that Mike&#x27;s implementation, customization, &amp; training services there gave them a $2M advantage. 
Recognizing that there were opportunities and unmet FEA needs in multiple sectors, Mike next launched www.In2Solutions.com. In addition to working with industry, other design-service providers, and even some in academia, for almost 10 years after leaving the sales channel, Mike continued to write/update ANSYS training manuals and also teach occasionally for the software developer. Furthermore he is now currently the Author of over 50 online ANSYS lessons at SolidProfessor.com, and he actively pursues custom teaching &amp; mentoring gigs because general purpose standardized classes often don&#x27;t meet everyone&#x27;s specific needs. Organizations and end-users of all sizes can benefit from customizable one-on-one and group support.

Mike continues to spearhead the activities at In2Solutions Inc, an ANSYS consulting &amp; services company where he focuses on FEA Process Development/implementation and mentoring, turnkey FEA Consulting projects, and also leverages his experience to set up and deliver &quot;Jump Start&quot; preliminary/working ANSYS SIMs that are then finished by end-users. By having Mike setup (preprocess) and deliver &quot;working&quot; SIMs, client users can significantly increase their own bandwidth and accuracy because Mike works in parallel with them and does &quot;80%&quot; of the leg work in 20% of the time. Thus organizations can handle more projects faster.

Format: Virtual/Remote Meeting, using Google Meeting and hosted by ENCS ASME. An ASME rep will be the moderator. Watching the Q&amp;A, Chat, polls, etc, so serving as the gateway to Mike: prioritizing &amp; filtering all communication.
