Annuities come in many forms, including fixed, variable, and fixed-indexed varieties. Annuities are widely sold financial products, but they are often misunderstood. In this session, Robert Mascio provides an overview of annuities, including the general characteristics of each type of annuity and questions to ask before you buy.

Robert Mascio

Robert Mascio is Director of Investor Education Outreach for the FINRA Foundation. In this capacity, Rob cultivates and manages programs to protect consumers from investment and other financial frauds. He also facilitates FINRA’s Investor Issues Committee. Rob previously managed FINRA’s Vulnerable Adults and Seniors Team, including the FINRA Securities Helpline for Seniors, and has experience with both member supervision and market regulation initiatives. Rob obtained his MBA from Florida State University and an undergraduate degree from Salisbury University.
