Adults and families are invited to join us for the 2024 New York-North Jersey Chapter Annual Picnic!


This year the Annual Picnic returns to the Corman AMC Harriman Outdoor Center! Come for the just the Saturday Picnic, stay over Saturday night, or join us for a whole weekend (Friday-Sunday). It's up to you!

We've lined up an entire weekend of fun outdoor activities we will be highlighting the weekend with a picnic on Saturday at 4:30 pm featuring a fantastic picnic spread to include a variety of dishes. Vegetarian dishes will be offered for every meal.

This is an incredible opportunity to stay at AMC Harriman Outdoor Center at low cost.

Registration Instructions

** READ CAREFULLY **

This is a "reserved seating" event. So if you want to be near your friends, try to consolidate your ticket orders. CHOC maps are at the bottom of the page.

To register, follow these directions in sequence...

  1. If you are an AMC Member, type in Promotional Code Member20 and click Apply. Your 20% discounted prices will appear
  2. Select the number of each ticket type you wish to purchase (maximum 4 each per order)
  3. Click on Get Seats
  4. When the Venue Map appears, select your preferred bunk/tent positions or Day Guest-Picnic Only (red block). The venue map is not to scale. It is mostly accurate, although tent platform numbers may shift slightly.
  5. Check that your member discount is still applied in the shopping cart. Click Checkout
  6. Enter the Buyer/Payment/Registration/Other info as required on the Order Form. Be sure to include your valid AMC Membership number to receive your member discount.
  7. You will receive an email confirmation.

Note: You cannot make changes to your ticket after checkout, if you need to change your ticket options please contact us. You can always request a refund up to 2 weeks before the picnic.

Accommodations & Meals

Accommodations are in Cabins or Camping on tent platforms/3-sided shelters. A tenting ticket can accommodate people on platform/shelter or a Cabin ticket is for a single person on a bunk in a cabin. All tickets include meals Picnic & BBQ. Note: alcohol is not permitted to be sold or given away at CHOC, but those who are 21+ are welcome to bring their own.

Expenses this special weekend are offset by a donation from the New York-North Jersey Chapter. The Chapter Picnic Sold Out last year. Space is limited. So, Register Early! Members get a 20% discount!

Default Ticket is for Saturday overnight and includes all activities, including the Picnic, Saturday Lodging, and Sunday breakfast. To join for the whole weekend, select either or both Friday Overnight stay (includes Saturday Breakfast) and Friday night Dinner add-ons to your order before completing registration.

AMC Trip Policy

We encourage everyone to carpool or to take mass transit. You can take the bus or train to Sloatsburg Station and use the shuttle service for transportation to the camp. Please book your shuttle no later than 48 hours before arriving: Book the Shuttle Here.

What to Bring

Bring sheets and pillowcase or sleeping bag, tent, towels, yoga/hiking/swimming/paddling gear, sunscreen, bug spray, headlamp, hat, water bottle, and personal toiletries. Sheets and towels may be rented from the camp on a first come first serve basis. Bring your tent if you have one. There are loaner tents and sleeping pads until they run out. BYO adult beverages and snacks to share.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations canceled more than 7 days in advance receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Reservations canceled 7 days or less in advance are not refundable. If the AMC must cancel a program, registrants will be notified and all fees will be refunded. Normal weather will not cancel this event.

For this event only, add-on orders (ie, Friday Overnight and Friday Dinner) canceled more than 14 days in advance will not be charged a processing fee. Add-on orders canceled 14 days or less in advance are not refundable.
