Annie seamlessly blends buzzing garage guitars and high-energy performances with a pop-infused Nashville flair. The magic she creates in her hooks and melodies is apparent in her 7 singles, quickly turning casual listeners into fans. Followers waited patiently to see Annie’s raucous live show over the pandemic months and finally saw opportunities with her Fall 2021 tour supporting Sara Kays and her 16-date tour supporting SAMIA. Next up, she’s releasing a new song, which fortifies her vein of vulnerability and honest emotion paired with gritty riffs.

From her earliest years, Culver was destined to be a songwriter - the youngest of three daughters, she was the carpool kid on the way to her sister’s soccer games singing along in the backseat to The National and Bon Iver. Soon she was leaving song sheets scattered around the house in hopes her family would find them.

The writing continued well past childhood and led to stream of consciousness songwriting, resulting in songs that revel in being brutally honest, always laced with a soft vulnerable edge. A voice that cuts above even strong percussion, haunts the listener and brings with it a certain air of Stevie Nicks. From Atlanta and based in Nashville, Culver has found her sound standing in the sand bar between indie rock and americana. She credits musical inspiration and influence to artists including Zella Day, Samia, Ruston Kelly and Donavan Woods. Her uniquely crafted sound can be heard echoing across her string of singles released between 2020 and 2021. This sound was developed alongside producer Jason Cummings in New York City; the two were introduced by friend and co-writer Annie DiRusso. Culver kept her circle just as small while writing for her upcoming project.

Her Fall 2022 release of debut EP “In the Light” takes a pointed view of a first love lost. A storybook made up of four chapters, this project is an examination of the ending of something. “Nostalgia, like looking back and being wishful and wistful for something, but ultimately, wrapping it up and saying, that's what it was and I'm happy that that's what it was and that's all it will probably ever be,” says Culver of the feelings associated with the record. The resolve of this project leaves the listener feeling as though they are seeing the coffin being nailed at the wake. Although the project is deeply personal and vulnerable, Culver finds excitement in getting to play it out to audiences in the coming year. She says, “It’s just like going full circle in a way. Being able to use music as a tool to let go of things in my life and move on and tell the truth, while hopefully making other people feel that same way.” While this project and retelling the stories through touring is top of mind, Culver has already begun thinking about the next story she wants to tell. “I find myself latching on to love and other people to be this sense of inspiration when I know I have a lot more to say, There is a lot more to tell about who I am.”
