About this event

Lincoln Families is bringing this training to providers in Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Many system-involved youth struggle to regulate their emotions, particularly anger. Youth often acknowledge their need for anger management skills so it’s crucial for social service providers, foster parents, and natural supports to learn how to help system-involved youth navigate their anger. This workshop will provide you with strategies for talking with system involved youth about anger management and how to support them. The training will also teach conflict resolution skills to share, teach and practice with system-involved youth and young adults in care.

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible.

The learning objectives are below

  • 1. Participants will be able to identify at least one way anger can be externalized.
  • 2. Participants will be able to identify at least one way system involved youth internalize anger.
  • 3. Participants will be able to identify at least one strategy to help system involved youth regulate their anger.

The training will be facilitated by Dr. Kwonta Phatiphong of Klasey Consulting LLC. You can learn more about Klasey Consulting at www.klaseyconsulting.com.
