Android Development: RecyclerView, Beyond the Basics

In 2014, Google added RecyclerView to the Android Support package, with the vision of it being a long-term replacement for existing widgets like ListView and GridView. RecyclerView is without question a much more powerful widget. However, it epitomizes the expression "some assembly required", as it needs a fair bit of code just to get to the level of what ListView and kin offer "for free".
But you know all of that, because either you have played around with RecylerView a bit already, or perhaps you attended <A HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/android-development-recyclerview-basics-tickets-16307289542">the "RecyclerView Basics" webinar</A> being offered.
In this one-hour webinar, we will go beyond the basics and explore how to use cursors as your data model for a RecyclerView, how to have different layouts for different items in a RecyclerView (e.g., headers in a list), how to support choice models like checklists, and how to add and remove items from a RecyclerView with animated effects.

It should work on any desktop browser with Adobe Flash 11.5 support. Notably, this means that Linux users will likely need Google Chrome (not Chromium) to get the Flash support. Audio for the presentation will also be online, so speakers or headphones are strongly encouraged. Groups wishing to attend are welcome to do so -- the tickets are per-connection to the meeting space, not per-person.
