The Kentucky Mine Amphitheater: A Hidden Musical GemLocated just outside of the tiny hamlet known as Sierra City lies the Kentucky Mine and Museum.  A county park operated by the Sierra County Historical Society and open to the public, the park features a museum, stamp mill, portal entrance to the now defunct mine, an extensive picnic area and numerous mining artifacts dating back to the days when gold mining was rampant throughout this region of the Sierra Nevada.  The park also boasts an amphitheater, carved into the mountainside and surrounded by towering pines and oaks.  The amphitheater seats two hundred patrons, has a performance stage and a large dance floor.Tickets can be purchased online, or at the gate.Visit theSierra County History websiteCheck out ourfacebook/MusicAtTheMine&Instagram/musicatthemineQuestions or concerns? Joyously returning to the Kentucky Mine after years of touring the world, Ancient Future “offers evocative world music imbued with graceful simplicity”. Formed in 1978, Ancient Future is the world’s first and longest running ensemble dedicated exclusively to the mission of the creation of world fusion music. Their original music is an exhilarating fusion of exciting rhythms and sounds from around the globe that combines contemporary jazz and rock with the irresistible rhythms of numerous cultures and countries beyond our borders. The show at the Mine is one of many as they are touring in celebration of their 40th year as a vibrant musical entity.

Bring a picnic!  All concert attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring their own picnic meals and refreshments.  The venue has a sizable picnic area in addition to the amphitheater.

What's the refund policy?
Please consider your ticket price as a tax deductible donation to the Sierra County Historical Society, a non-profit organization f you are unable to attend,  However, refunds will be issued upon request.
 Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, or provide mobile verification.  Please download your ticket to your phone as cell and internet access can be unreliable in Sierra City.
 Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes
